Chief Operating Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operating Engineer to join our team at Waterford Executive. As a key member of our Burlington Operations team, you will be responsible for the safe management, operation, and maintenance of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and operate the plant in a safe condition, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Develop and implement operational plans to accommodate changes to facilities roles and forecasts.
- Identify and mitigate risks, hazards, and contraventions, taking corrective action as necessary.
- Monitor and report on plant performance, including production spreadsheets and CMMS dashboard summaries.
- Manage staff, including interviewing, selecting, and hiring, as well as making decisions on salary, staff changes, and disciplinary issues.
- Provide coaching and feedback to staff, as well as making arrangements for training and development.
- Manage relationships with contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with the Company's Contractor Safety Management Program.
- Bachelor of Engineering degree.
- 1st class operating engineer ticket and at least 5 years of experience operating in a first-class plant.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to recommend and implement strategies for the operation and maintenance of facilities.
- Experience in managing plant operating and maintenance Key Performance Indicators and completing projects on time and on budget.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, requiring a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
