Job Description

This role is a key component of the Rook I Project team, responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and authorization.

  • The successful candidate will develop strategic approaches to regulatory authorizations, identifying information needs from proposed scopes of work and procurement packages.
  • They will compile technical and management system information for regulatory approvals, tracking application commitments and approval conditions for compliance with regulations.
  • Maintaining regulatory authorization in the project schedule is also a critical aspect of this role.
  • The ideal candidate will participate in meetings with regulatory bodies to facilitate permitting and address issues, while monitoring regulatory changes and identifying potential impacts on project construction and operation.
  • Effective communication with local communities and stakeholders is essential, as is maintaining records of permit applications, regulatory correspondence, and approvals.
  • Preparation of reports and documentation for compliance with approval conditions and regulatory requirements is also a key responsibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in permitting or regulatory compliance, preferably in Saskatchewan and the uranium mining and milling sector.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand and distill complex technical information.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities is beneficial.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaborative working skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
Location and Salary

This position will be based at our office in Saskatoon, with periodic travel to the project site. The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
