Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with regional teams to conduct assessments of forest landscape health and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Interpret geospatial information to assess landscape level forest management plan targets and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct field assessments to ensure compliance with forest management plans and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve forest landscape health and ensure sustainable forest management practices.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including government officials, forest industry representatives, and the public.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in forestry, ecology, or related biological science.
  • Experience in forest landscape ecology or forest management.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable forest management practices and forest operations in Canada.
  • Knowledge of landscape level ecological processes and their influence on both the availability of habitat and productive commercial forest.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
