Job Summary:

The Advanced Care Paramedic is responsible for assessing emergency scenes and patients, providing medical treatment, and transporting patients to medical facilities. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess emergency scenes and patients, providing medical treatment as needed
  • Transport patients to medical facilities, ensuring safe and efficient transportation
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical protocols, procedures, and best practices
Requirements:
  • Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Valid class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent
  • Five (5) year driver abstract current within six (6) months with no more than six (6) demerits
  • Proof of successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (FARE) test
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education and/or experience in Community Health Services, nursing, social work, geriatric medicine, palliative medicine, chronic disease management, primary care, community pharmacology
  • Experience collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to achieve best patient care practices
  • Experience working in and demonstrating a strong understanding of community senior living such as supportive living sites, independent living lodges, and long-term care
