Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects focused on improving and scaling automated and robotic manufacturing systems for modular and panelized homes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions when necessary to meet milestones and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, production, procurement, construction, and design teams to align project goals.

Automation and Robotics Integration:

  • Oversee the implementation of automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 technologies in the factory to streamline production processes.
  • Lead the integration of robotic systems into the production line to enhance efficiency, reduce manual labor, and improve product quality.
  • Evaluate, select, and procure robotic systems and automation equipment, and work with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends to identify new automation opportunities and continuously optimize production capabilities.

Product Development & Design for Manufacturability:

  • Work with the product development team to ensure that new modular home designs are optimized for automated production and scalability.
  • Act as a liaison between design engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure that product designs can be efficiently produced using available robotic and automated systems.
  • Lead the development and refinement of prototypes, providing feedback on manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and production feasibility.
  • Ensure product designs align with company goals for sustainability, energy efficiency, and innovation in modular construction.

Production Efficiency and Quality Control:

  • Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste, improve product consistency, and optimize factory throughput.
  • Work with quality assurance teams to establish and enforce stringent quality control standards, ensuring that both design and production processes meet customer expectations and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing project management with a focus on automation, robotics, and product development, ideally in modular construction or prefabricated housing.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale product development and manufacturing projects from concept through production.
  • Strong knowledge of modular home design, construction processes, and how to optimize designs for automated manufacturing.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Extensive experience in automation and robotics technologies used in manufacturing, such as robotic arms, CNC machines, and automated assembly lines.
  • Proficiency in product development processes, including prototyping, design for manufacturability, and scaling production.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Proficiency in CAD, CAM, ERP, and other relevant manufacturing software tools.
