Housekeeping Director Job Summary



The Kimpton Saint George Hotel is seeking a seasoned Housekeeping Director to oversee the cleanliness and organization of our boutique hotel. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout the hotel.



Key Responsibilities




  • Select, staff, recruit, hire, and train qualified housekeeping staff to maintain the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Develop and implement effective scheduling and cleaning procedures to ensure all areas of the hotel are cleaned and maintained to our high standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure all areas of the hotel meet our cleanliness and organization standards.
  • Collaborate with the front desk, sales, and maintenance departments to ensure a seamless and high-quality guest experience.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring all necessary materials are available to housekeeping staff.
  • Develop and implement effective procedures for handling guest requests and concerns related to cleanliness and organization.
  • Train and support housekeeping staff in their roles, providing coaching and feedback as needed to ensure they meet our high standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of housekeeping operations, including cleaning schedules, inventory levels, and guest feedback.


Requirements




  • Minimum 3 years of experience in housekeeping or a related field, including experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven track record of success in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with housekeeping staff, front desk, sales, and maintenance departments.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective procedures and policies to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues related to cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports, including cleaning schedules, inventory levels, and guest feedback.


Working Conditions



The Housekeeping Director will work in a fast-paced hotel environment, with frequent interactions with housekeeping staff, front desk, sales, and maintenance departments. The position requires a high level of physical activity, including walking, standing, and lifting, as well as the ability to work in a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
