At the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury, a dynamic organization within Alberta Health Services, we have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Psychiatric Nurse/Registered Nurse to join our Seniors Mental Health Program in Ponoka. Our State-of-the-art facility is recognized nationally and internationally for providing specialized mental health and brain injury treatment and care.
We are committed to integrated, multidisciplinary care and treatment, ensuring the best outcomes for our patients and their families. The Seniors Mental Health program provides assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation programs for individuals over the age of 65 with psychiatric illnesses such as dementia and mood disorders.
The goal of our program is to help each patient gain optimal functioning in preparation for community integration. We offer specialty programming in areas like Mood and Thought Disorder, Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Enrichment, and Specialized Dementia.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in this role, you will provide treatment and medication recommendations for seniors with complex presentations. You will work collaboratively with our team of specialists and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
This position has been identified to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. If you are the successful candidate, you will be transitioning to Recovery Alberta by applying for this posting.
Description:
In your role as a Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while prioritizing their safety and well-being. You will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. Additionally, you will teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. As part of our team, you will deliver safe, quality patient-centered care that reflects the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.
Required Qualifications:
We require a completion of an accredited nursing education program and active registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification is also necessary. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, completion of CRNA Medication Management chapters 1-4 and NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification is required.
Salary Information:
Based on industry standards and location, the estimated annual salary range for this position is $102,000 - $142,000 CAD. Please note that the actual salary may vary based on individual qualifications and experience.
