Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Director, Inspections to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of audit firms, maintaining control of assigned inspection work, and fostering professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of audit firms, including discussions with engagement teams and firm leadership, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain control of assigned inspection work, meeting deadlines and conducting inspections in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Foster professional, productive, and respectful working relationships with colleagues, firms, and external stakeholders to promote a positive image of the organization.
  • Prepare high-quality written reports and participate in inspection projects aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of our inspection processes.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and thought leadership initiatives, and travel throughout the year as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive public company accounting and audit experience at a Big Four or other national accounting firm.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS and Canadian Auditing Standards; US GAAP is also an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to travel, approximately up to 6 weeks per year.
