The ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable combination of education and experience. Licensed Professional Engineer status with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) is also required.

With at least three years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in an industrial, engineering, or automation setting, the successful candidate will have expertise in developing electrical designs for complex automated systems using engineering principles.

A competitive compensation package, estimated to be around $90,000 - $120,000 per year, is offered to the right candidate.

The Electrical Design Systems Specialist will work closely with a team of skilled professionals in mechanical, electrical, and project management to design electrical systems grounded in sound engineering principles.

This role includes ensuring the reliability of device performance and adherence to customer specifications. The engineer will be responsible for continuously implementing improvements to enhance quality and reliability.

The position involves various tasks such as attending project kickoff meetings, estimating hours and material costs, developing and preparing electrical designs and drawings, creating and maintaining electrical schematics, ensuring that equipment design meets all functional requirements, guaranteeing system performance reliability and conformance to customer specifications, designing in accordance with company standards and departmental procedures, monitoring budget and schedule commitments during the design phase, overseeing the research phase for purchasing electrical parts, maintaining engineering drawing packages and other supporting documentation, scheduling, leading, and documenting minutes for design reviews throughout the design cycle, addressing electrical issues on the shop floor or at customer sites, assisting the Engineering Supervisor in achieving quality and reliability goals, and collaborating with other departments and integrating safety concepts into the equipment design.
