Job Summary

PCL Constructors Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Human Resource Policy Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice and guidance on employee relations and compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis to develop and implement effective policies and procedures that support legislative and internal policy compliance.
  • Employee Relations and Compliance: Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations and compliance matters, including providing recommendations on various employee relations and compliance issues and opportunities relevant to PCL.
  • Policy Implementation and Evaluation: Assist with the implementation of compliance procedures and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of existing and new policies.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Create and maintain clear and concise documents, such as reports, briefs, memos, and presentations, and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure alignment and coordination of policy objectives and actions.
  • Strategic Advice and Recommendations: Analyze implications of options, in terms of opportunities, risks, costs, and benefits of policy options, including implementation and delivery mechanisms.
  • Support to Total Rewards Department: Provide support to various tasks as needed within the Total Rewards department.
Qualifications
  • Education: A bachelor's degree or higher in public policy, communications, social sciences, humanities, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of progressively more complex experience in a related field, preferably in a private organization.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate, assess, and readily adapt to changing priorities, maintain resiliency, and effectively work in a changing environment.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and formats, and knowledge of and interest in the policy issues and priorities of the construction industry.
