Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Horizon North is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical work on new and renovated buildings, including rough-in and finishing electrical work.
  • Load and unload materials, and move materials to work areas.
  • Splice, join, and connect wires, and troubleshoot and isolate faults.
  • Install, replace, and repair electrical controls, panel boxes, HVAC units, and furnaces.
  • Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults, and the integrity of circuits.
  • Clean and store tools and equipment, and maintain site equipment to the highest possible condition.
  • Liaise with the Area Superintendent and Maintenance Planner to keep up-to-date on all maintenance issues and complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all site equipment is in good repair, and effectively manage time to meet all necessary deadlines.
  • Interact with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems on site.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, and wear required Personal Protective Equipment at all times during work hours.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High school education and a Journeyman Certificate in Electrical.
  • 5 years of electrical experience, with practical knowledge of electrical techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry and company codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
  • Able to operate all hand and power tools required to perform tasks specific to the trade.
  • Able to demonstrate organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills.
  • Able to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work individually and as a team member, and safely and comfortably carry out physical duties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and attention to health and safety of self and co-workers.
