We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Arvan Rehab Group. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping our residents achieve their full potential and improve their quality of life.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work closely with our residents to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on activities of daily living. This is a part-time position, requiring 3 hours of work per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct OT/ADP assessments for residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and document all progress notes in our electronic health record system.
  • Feeding Assessments: Complete feeding assessments for residents to ensure their nutritional needs are met.
  • Falls Prevention and Least Restraints: Conduct assessments for falls prevention and Least Restraints, including reviews of bed rails, to ensure a safe environment for our residents.
  • Wound Management: Work with our Physiotherapist and Nursing staff to develop and implement wound management plans, including positioning, lifting, and transferring.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Team Collaboration: Work with our multi-disciplinary team to make recommendations for other interventions or treatments, such as Restorative Care, Pain Management, and Contingence Management, and ensure these interventions follow best practices.
Requirements
  • Registration and Licensure: Must be registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and have ADP Authorizer.
  • Professional License Insurance: Must have Professional License Insurance.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and listening skills when interacting with residents or their families, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience: Experience working in a Long Term Care home is an asset.
  • Criminal Record Check: A current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
