Forensic Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam, BC.
About the RoleAs a Registered Nurse, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing specialized care to adults with mental illness who are in conflict with the law. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct care to patients in accordance with their care plans, including administering medication and implementing behavior management strategies.
- Recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of patient conditions, and documenting patient health care information.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans, and contributing to the physical and psychological well-being of patients.
- Consulting with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and access to resources.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
- Graduation from a recognized diploma program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing.
- One year of recent experience working in a forensic or acute psychiatric hospital setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPR Training – Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Level 1.
