About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Excavation Foreman/Woman to join our team at CHELA TRANSPORT LTD. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment on our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Bidding

Estimate costs and materials required for projects, and prepare bids to secure contracts.

Project Management

Co-ordinate and schedule activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Team Leadership

Supervise and train workers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently.

Health and Safety

Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, and that workers are aware of and comply with these regulations.

Equipment Maintenance

Requisition materials and supplies, and ensure that equipment is properly maintained and serviced.

Requirements
  • Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience

2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.

Work Environment

Ability to work in a dangerous, dusty, noisy, and odour-filled environment.

Work Setting

Willingness to relocate to various construction sites.

Personal Qualities

Excellent oral communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and a strong sense of initiative and judgement.
