Building Operations Specialist

About the Role
At BGIS, we are seeking a skilled Building Operator to join our team. As a Building Operator, you will be responsible for operating facility systems, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate facility systems and perform routine and on-demand services on mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
- Monitor and inspect facility systems to ensure uptime objectives are met and client operations are uninterrupted.
- Provide recommendations for enhancement and repair of facility systems and equipment.
- Respond to service requests and perform maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Record and track maintenance and repair work in our service management database.
- Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs and ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies.
Requirements
- More than 4 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience.
- High school diploma plus trades training and certification or licensing.
- Advanced ability to adhere to and execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
- Advanced ability to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment.
- Current knowledge of fire, life, safety, and building codes and standards.
