Job Title: Designated Early Childhood Educator

Join the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board as a Designated Early Childhood Educator and play a vital role in supporting the Catholic classroom teacher in planning and implementing a full-day early learning program.

Job Summary

The Designated Early Childhood Educator will work in partnership with the Catholic classroom teacher to provide a comprehensive early learning program that supports faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting. This role requires a strong understanding of the Ministry of Education's full-day early learning program and related legislation, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and the general public.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Catholic classroom teacher to plan and implement a full-day early learning program that supports faith initiatives
  • Provide supervision and age-appropriate Catholic programming for groups of students
  • Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents and the community to support the early learning program
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education
Requirements
  • Two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma and proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Minimum of six months childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Understanding of commitment to confidentiality
