Job Title: Designated Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Designated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will partner with the Catholic classroom teacher to plan and implement a full-day early learning program that supports faith initiatives within a Catholic classroom setting. The Designated Early Childhood Educator will provide supervision and age-appropriate Catholic programming for groups of students.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a full-day early learning program that aligns with the Ministry of Education's full-day early learning program and related legislation.
  • Partner with the Catholic classroom teacher to develop and implement age-appropriate Catholic programs.
  • Provide supervision and support to students in a Catholic classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with the Catholic classroom teacher to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with parents and the community to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • A two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma and proof of registration and good standing with The College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Minimum of six months childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
