Job Title: Faculty Member, Fruit Genetics and Improvement

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Faculty Member to join our team in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research in fruit genetics and improvement, and contributing to the development of new crop varieties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in fruit genetics and improvement
  • Conduct research in fruit genetics and improvement, with a focus on developing new crop varieties
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new research projects
  • Supervise and mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
  • Participate in outreach and extension activities to promote the university's research and teaching programs
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in plant breeding, genetics, or a related field
  • Experience in fruit genetics and improvement, with a focus on developing new crop varieties
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
