Brandt is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team in the Medicine Hat and surrounding area, reporting to our Material Handling Lethbridge location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of material handling based equipment and attachments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the working condition of material handling equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document work orders with machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Required Skills:

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to work with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Required Experience:

  • Previous mechanical experience in a material handling environment is preferred.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade is preferred.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
