Technical Infrastructure Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Infrastructure Expert to join our team at Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP). This is a key leadership role that requires expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise technology infrastructure.
Job SummaryThe Technical Infrastructure Expert will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, security, and management of OTIP's technology landscape. This includes hybrid cloud, server, storage services, network, telephony, and desktop systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, implement, test, and maintain high-quality service for cloud (Azure/M365), virtualization, server, SANs, VMware, mobility, firewalls, telephony, desktop, network switches, and routers.
- Establish performance and quality standards; monitor enterprise technology services (internal and external) for optimal quality, performance, service level agreements, efficiencies, and maintain a high level of system availability.
- Oversee fluid and dependable operations and system backups for all technology services, including disaster recovery and related, and maintaining up-to-date documentation.
- In a consulting manner, conduct investigation, troubleshooting, analyzing, and present recommendations related to all enterprise technology services, with technology experts (internal and external) and business partners, including cost analysis, requesting, and assessing quotes, and procurement of services and equipment.
- Ensure documentation and knowledge bases are kept up to date through methods of continuous improvement as an effective tool for design, support, and troubleshooting.
- Provide guidance to the organization in the implementation, support, and design of enterprise systems to meet OTIP's business, security, and service level requirements on an ongoing basis.
- University degree or college diploma in computer science or related subject.
- Five to seven years' experience in the administration and support of enterprise infrastructure, with server and storage systems experience with a Microsoft focus, including VMWare.
- Experience with cloud services (Azure or AWS based) and SaaS and IaaS offerings.
- Desired certifications: MS Azure related, MCSE designation; ITIL foundations; VMWare or equivalent work experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Internet Information Services in a high availability environment.
- Experience with platforms including Windows, SQL Server, and other server system products.
- An expert level of experience with Windows Server infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, IIS, Active Directory, and Exchange and all related services and functions, including TCP/IP, Windows clustering, DNS, and DHCP.
- Recent extensive experience with server, storage, networking hardware troubleshooting and administration.
- Experience with managing telephony services, including PBX, SIP, PRI, VOIP, ACD, UCaaS, CCaaS, unified messaging technologies.
- Experience with ITIL implementations; specifically with Service Catalogue.
- Ability to work simultaneously on a large number of initiatives and tasks in a highly dynamic and evolving environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities, including project management skills.
- Rewarding salary range $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
