Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Cytogenetics Laboratory team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures with accuracy and precision, while maintaining a high level of productivity and competence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform established routine and specialized Cytogenetics laboratory procedures as required
  • Review, record, and accurately report test results in a timely manner
  • Recognize abnormal or unusual lab results and take appropriate action according to protocol
  • Identify technical or quality process problems and take corrective action
  • Participate in quality control, quality assurance, and the quality management system
  • Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with laboratory accreditation requirements
  • Work safely in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act
Requirements
  • Member of CMLTO or eligible for registration in Genetics (Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics)
  • Experience in Cytogenetics an asset
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
