Associate Professor and Principal Research Chair in Indigenous Health
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced scholar to fill a tenure-track Associate Professor position in Indigenous Health. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Principal Research Chair in Indigenous Health, with a focus on strengthening Indigenous health scholarship in the School of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct research in Indigenous health, with a focus on topics related to emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.
- Develop and implement research projects that address the health priorities of Indigenous communities.
- Supervise graduate students, particularly Indigenous students, in research training opportunities.
- Collaborate with Indigenous communities, organizations, and institutions to develop and implement research projects.
- Teach and mentor students in Indigenous health research and education.
- PhD in nursing or a related health discipline.
- Experience in research and publication in Indigenous health.
- Strong potential to support externally funded research and contribute to building research capacity in Indigenous health.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Indigenous communities and organizations.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students in Indigenous health research and education.
- Verifiable connections to Indigenous communities in formal affiliation and/or established relationship.
- Experience in collaborative research partnerships with Indigenous communities.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
