About Second Nature Family Health & Wellness Centre
We are a centre that provides a safe, trauma-informed, and attachment-based therapeutic learning environment to children who may benefit from an alternate learning environment. Our mission is to support neurodivergent children in developing their strengths.
Role Overview
The Therapeutic Program Manager will take on a managerial role on site, ensuring that our learners are cared for, and educational goals are being met. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing attachment-focused, trauma-informed lessons to neurodivergent children while supervising a small group of Instructor Educators in a collaborative atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing a safe, stimulating learning environment to neurodivergent children ages 4-12
- Offering ongoing support and feedback to ensure the highest quality of therapeutic interventions
- Providing leadership to a small team of Educators/Instructors
- Collecting classroom observations and submitting them to the Centre Director
- Participating in team training and workshops
- Collaborating with parents/guardians and families to ensure a high quality of care for our learners
- Be available for parent/guardian interviews and feedback sessions
- Provide supervision for school outings/field trips
- Provide supervision in creating learner portfolios (journals of learning)
- Liaise with the Centre Director to constantly improve and expand program offerings
- Provide engaging invitations to play and explore within the classroom that centre around learner's interests and that weave in subjects including Language Arts, STEAM, Mathematics, Physical Education, Health Education, etc.
- Provide mental health support to children during classroom hours
- Engage in therapeutic relationship building with children
- Participate in team meetings and trainings
- Collaborate with therapy professionals through regular assessments and feedback sessions
- Ensuring adherence to centre policies and procedures
- Overseeing and ensuring the centre is well-kept, and tasks are completed efficiently by team members
Requirements
- Experience in mental health counseling, education, and social work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Knowledge of attachment-based approaches and nature therapy
- Experience working with children, youth, and families
- Certification or relevant degree in counseling, psychology, or social work
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Possion for helping individuals develop social and emotional skills
- A love of learning and a willingness to think outside the box
What We Offer
A competitive salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum based on experience, an employee benefits package, paid vacation and sick time, ongoing professional development opportunities, and a supportive work environment.
