Mackenzie Health seeks a highly skilled Spiritual Care Leader to play a vital role in the management and coordination of our Spiritual Care Program.

The successful candidate will oversee spiritual and religious counseling services, psycho-spiritual support services, and provide a world-class patient experience. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal abilities. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of Spiritual Care experience, preferably in a hospital setting, and 2 years of student supervisory experience.

This leadership role demands:

  • Developing and implementing a best-practice spiritual care program aligned with Mackenzie Health's strategic plan, vision, and values.
  • Providing respectful care that acknowledges religious, spiritual, and cultural diversity by supporting ethical discussions and difficult decision-making.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing a Psycho-Spiritual Care Student Program under CASC/ACSS standards.
  • Assessing and engaging individual students to enhance their clinical learning, personal awareness, reflection on spiritual/religious theories, and professional competency.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Spiritual Care Leader will:

  • Provide direction, supervision, and support to the Spiritual Care team and volunteers.
  • Act as Hospital Liaison with Community Faith Partners.
  • Lead annual and ad-hoc spiritual celebrations and events.
  • Support education opportunities for research and quality improvement in Spiritual Care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary healthcare teams and provide guidance and subject matter expertise to various committees and teams.
  • Assist in preparing and leading Sacred Services within the Spiritual Care Program.
