About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is committed to advancing the field of pharmacy by hiring graduate Pharmacy Technicians who will be completing their studies in the next 12 months. Our mission is to provide a challenging and rewarding environment for individuals to enter the pharmacy field.

As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will participate in the provision of safe, competent, patient-centered care, ensuring the goals and needs of the patient are prioritized and individualized. Your responsibilities will include compounding of sterile and non-sterile dosage forms, dispensing drugs to inpatients and outpatients in unit dose, physician order entry, working with automation, inventory control, medication reconciliation, and CIVA systems. You will also prepare chemotherapy doses, distribute narcotics, and participate in quality programs and patient safety initiatives.

About You

We are looking for individuals who have the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
  • Eligible for Licensure and registration in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP) required
  • Competencies in other languages is an asset; French preferred

Hours
  • Various permanent and assignment (temporary) opportunities are available

Compensation and Benefits
  • Graduate Pharmacy Technician: $23.19 per hour
  • Registered Technician: $24.96 per hour after you provide proof of your registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists
