About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our team at the University of Guelph. As a key member of our academic community, you will be responsible for conducting research in your field of specialization, directing research programs of graduate students, and teaching one or more university subjects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Scholarship
    • Conduct research in your field of specialization, with a focus on publishing high-quality papers and securing external funding.
    • Direct research programs of graduate students, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success.
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Teach one or more university subjects, developing and delivering high-quality course materials and assessments.
    • Prepare, administer, and grade assigned work, ensuring that students receive a high-quality educational experience.
  • Service and Administration
    • Perform administrative tasks, such as departmental service and committee work.
    • Contribute to the development of academic programs and policies, ensuring that they align with the university's strategic goals.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Earned a doctorate degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent research and teaching skills, with a strong publication record and a proven ability to secure external funding.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and external partners.
