High-Risk Patient Care Assistant


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Allied Health Services Team at Humber River Health, located in the vibrant North West Toronto community.


The successful candidate will work closely with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to provide exceptional patient care to our inpatients within the Surgical Program, as well as assisting with occasional patient support within the inpatient Medical program.


The role involves:



  • Assisting both Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist with patient treatment on Inpatients within the Surgical Program, with the occasional assistance within the inpatient Medical program.
  • Providing assigned, delegated treatment regimes, ensuring adherence to all delegated responsibilities.
  • Maintaining timely charting and workload measurement to optimize clinical outcomes.
  • Clinical supervision of students, including OTA/PTA students in collaboration with the PT or OT.

To be considered for this rewarding opportunity, applicants should have current experience working at HRH as a Rehab Assistant or hold a graduate degree from a recognized PTA and OTA Certificate/Diploma program. Additionally, they must be able to work effectively under supervision and maintain the delegation of responsibilities for support personnel as mandated by the Ontario College of Physiotherapists and the Ontario College of Occupational Therapists.
