Job Title: Buyer, Footwear and Accessories

At Harry Rosen, we're seeking a skilled Buyer to join our Buying Department. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for sourcing and evaluating vendors for private label development, preparing sell-thru reports, and sourcing product for outlet locations and mainline margin OP buys.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source and evaluate vendors for private label development
  • Prepare sell-thru reports to bring to vendor appointments
  • Source product for outlet locations and mainline margin OP buys as needed
  • Market research and retail landscape awareness, including positive/negative business trends to manage risk
  • Review and adjust basic inventory assortment
  • Conduct seasonal reviews and execute RTVs from the RTV warehouse
  • Provide input to the planning team to finalize markdowns
  • Source potential online-only merchandise
  • Support Trunk Show/In-Store Events
  • Request samples from vendors and digital assets
  • Conduct online expert reviews of product to boost profile
  • Prepare Seasonal Merchandise Pitch Decks and ongoing product knowledge to SH
  • Regular Store Visits with set agendas
Requirements:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Merchandising or a related discipline or buying experience preferred
  • Knowledge in footwear, an asset
  • An exceptional orientation to detail
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Innovative thinker, and problem solver
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong sense of urgency with the proven ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional computer skills, specifically Excel, as well as Word, and Outlook
  • Retail experience, an asset
