About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at TRC Total Renal Care Inc. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients undergoing dialysis treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment to patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Technician Duties: Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording vital signs, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Building Relationships: Develop strong relationships with patients and their families, providing education and support on kidney disease and dialysis-related topics.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of clinicians, including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Schedule: Be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of our patients.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in healthcare, preferably in a dialysis setting, is an asset.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and physical stamina to perform the demands of the job.
  • Certifications: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification are an asset.
  • Health and Safety: Must be comfortable working around blood and needles, and be willing to follow infection control protocols.
