About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Snow Removal Equipment Operator to join our team at Emcon Services Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various snow removal equipment, including road sweepers, salt trucks, sanding trucks, and snowploughs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Check, lubricate, refuel, and clean equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operate various vehicles and equipment, including semi-trailer trucks, trailer trucks, and snow removal equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report any malfunctions or issues to your supervisor in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Site Environment: Ability to work in cold, refrigerated, and noisy environments, with exposure to odours and wet/damp conditions.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding role requiring attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Truck or Equipment Experience: Previous experience operating road sweepers, salt trucks, sanding trucks, and snowploughs.
  • Certifications and Licenses: AZ class license, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks), Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles), and DZ class license.
