Job Title: Health and Safety Supervisor

At Chick-fil-A of Wharncliffe & Wonderland, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained in our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure compliance with relevant legislations, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and encourage employees to report any safety concerns.
  • Create and maintain safety policies and procedures to minimize health and safety incidents and hazards.
  • Establish a joint health and safety committee, conduct regular meetings to discuss safety concerns, updates, actions plans, compliance standards, and ways to continuously improve safety measures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify, assess, and address potential risks.
  • Maintain open communication with management, employees, and external safety partners and organizations.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on safety protocols and best practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, provide recommendations for corrective actions and preventative measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all safety-related incidents, reports them along with proper documentation to the Ontario Ministry of Labour and other relevant agencies and contacts as required.
  • Organize safety drills and exercises.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum three to five years' experience in a relevant health and safety management role.
  • Strong knowledge of local and federal safety regulations and standards, including practical implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and associated regulations and standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office, project, and safety management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to quickly identify and address safety concerns.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passionate and committed to promoting a culture of safety and employee well-being.
