Our Behavioural Support Specialists play a vital role in this process, providing guidance and counseling to help residents cope with challenging behaviors and emotions.

As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work closely with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans and provide support and guidance when needed.

Key Responsibilities

* Assess and identify resident behavioral concerns and develop strategies to address them
* Provide counseling and support to residents and their families to promote coping mechanisms and stress management
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident
* Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and caregivers to ensure seamless care delivery
* Document resident progress and provide regular updates to healthcare teams

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field
* Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
* Minimum 2 years of experience working in long-term care or a similar setting
* Strong understanding of gerontology, mental health, and social services
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
