Capital Project Manager Role Overview

Canadian Mental Health Association is seeking a skilled Capital Project Manager to lead the development of our Community Care Hub project. This is a full-time, contract role with a 35-hour workweek and a contract end date of March 31, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a document management framework in consultation with the Executive Assistant to the Project Executive, the PM team, and the Internal Project Steering Committee
  • Keep project documentation (including plans) up-to-date and monitor project status and timelines
  • Apply key project management tools, techniques, and processes
  • Assist the Project Director with internal/external resource oversight, including assisting with the identification and analysis of project stakeholders and their communication needs
  • Facilitate internal team member risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategy development and communicates key project issues and changes
  • Collaborate with key external partners, such as the prime consultant, general contractor, and other sub-contractors and vendors
  • Manage a large volume of complex project issues, including those that directly impact the project's scope, budget, schedule, and quality

Requirements:
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction, or a related area of study
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or certification in process with relevant experience required
  • A minimum of 3 or more years of related experience in construction or capital project management required, preferably in a healthcare setting and/or not for profit organization
