Job Title: Certified Dental Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Dental Assistant to join our team at New Westminster Sedation & General Dentistry.

Job Summary:

The Certified Dental Assistant will be responsible for assisting dentists and hygienists with patient care, preparing dental instruments and materials, and maintaining a clean and organized dental environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and procedures
  • Assist dentists and hygienists with patient care, including taking X-rays and developing dental films
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment
  • Order and maintain dental and office supplies
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
  • Train and supervise dental assistants in their health care functions
  • Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases
  • Polish and buff dentures
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide instructions on proper dental care
  • Perform reception and clerical duties, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
Requirements:
  • Registration with provincial or territorial authorities
  • Completion of a dental assisting program or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
Work Environment:

The Certified Dental Assistant will work in a fast-paced dental clinic environment, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
