We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Nurse Plastic Surgery Specialist to join our team at TalentSphere Staffing Solutions. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced plastic surgery environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient screening tasks and review medical history and psychosocial status before surgery.
- Administer non-invasive treatments such as Botox, laser treatments, and chemical peels.
- Prepare the operating room before procedures and assist with invasive treatments.
- Monitor patients before and after their surgeries.
- Discuss patients' procedures with them and explain what they can expect before, during, and after the procedure.
- Care for patients after procedures to ensure they are healing properly.
- Provide the appropriate care for the wound or surgery site.
- Support patients and families for the duration of the treatment.
- Handle cosmetic and reconstructive patients in an unbiased, non-judgmental way.
- Collaborate with physicians and other team members to ensure all the patient's needs are met.
- BScN preferred
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification (required by RN to work PACU)
- Minimum of (two years') experience as an RN in plastic surgery.
- Certification in plastic surgery nursing may be advantageous.
- Competency in electronic patient management systems.
- In-depth knowledge of cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries.
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Experience in a private surgical centre a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
