Assembly Operator Job Description

Adecco Canada is seeking a skilled Assembly Operator to join our team in Ottawa, ON.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for collaborating with teams to ensure quality and efficiency, inspecting products, handling machine faults, and processing rejects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Assembly teams to maximize quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Inspect and monitor quality and line performance in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Manually inspect and process rejects from the automated vision system determining pass/fail per process procedures.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and good organizational skills.
  • Some electronic or mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment would be preferred.
  • Must be able to work at a very fast pace, lots of running around the Assembly lines addressing machine faults and jams.
  • Quick learner/self-starter.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Organized with good multi-tasking skills.
  • Regular interaction with other peers, supervisors, manufacturing engineers, and technicians.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, target-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work accurately and precisely, Ability to maintain good quality while working with urgency.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective in a repetitive position.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Able to follow all process - FDA regulated.
  • Be comfortable with full gowning/clean room.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as required.
Requirements
  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada.
  • Canadian High School Diploma / Degree or WES certified postsecondary is required.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to pass a dexterity test and a vision test.
  • Previous experience with automated equipment would be an asset.
  • General labour experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Available to work a 12-hour 4x4 shift rotation.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
