Underwriting Technical Assistant

Aviva is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Underwriting Technical Assistant to join our GCS Operations team in Toronto. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in supporting the processing of commercial policies and underwriting transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support underwriters in risk analysis of new business and complex renewal accounts
  • Build strong relationships with GCS MGA/Broker partners and internal Aviva stakeholders
  • Process transactional instructions and manage book of business documentation
  • Manage billing communication and internal/external Aviva stakeholder communication
  • Support management in executing automation tool applications and resolving errors
  • Provide data for quality assurance and audit functions
  • Provide input in support of analysis reporting and process tracking
Requirements:
  • Post-graduate degree with practical experience and an insurance background
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial insurance experience in a progressive underwriting support role
  • Actively pursuing CIP and/or CRM in good standing
  • Excellent MS Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
