Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Site Leadership Manager to join our team at Magil Construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field supervision and be able to provide strategic leadership and guidance to project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement site safety programs, ensuring a strong safety culture is maintained across all sites.
  • Provide support to project teams on schedule challenges, developing and implementing recovery plans as needed.
  • Oversee project progress, ensuring performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and trades when escalation is required by the site team.
  • Supervise, direct, coach, train, and mentor project teams on multiple sites.
  • Assist teams in identifying and driving the project schedule's critical path, anticipating constructability issues, troubleshooting, and embedding solutions in construction plans and schedules.
  • Work with the Site Superintendent and project management team to develop and implement a Project Execution Plan.
  • E nsure prompt scheduling, coordination, and effective cost control pertaining to project labor, equipment, and materials is being managed by site staff.
  • Stay current with industry practices and seek new and innovative construction methods and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman certificate or post-secondary diploma/degree in a related discipline.
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in field supervision preferred.
  • Eligible for project security clearances.

Competencies:

  • Reviews and understands the contract and subcontracts, helping project teams identify and mitigate risks (e.g., scope gaps) and maximize opportunities to ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Understanding of project scope and ability to apply complex engineering principles to construction challenges and embed solutions in construction plans and schedules.
  • Ability to complete value engineering and define scope and limitations for pursuits.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract language and ability to identify and mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of and application of safety and environmental principles/procedures/legislation and demonstrated experience in implementing a strong safety culture.
  • Ability to mentor field staff in effective ways to lead site meetings with the client, consultants, trades, and own workforce.
  • Capable of presenting at client meetings or for project pursuit work.
  • Expert understanding in management of general requirements on projects and communicating this skill to the field staff.

Experience:

  • Experience with scheduling, monitoring, and mentoring others on forecasting resources.
  • Ability to manage field staff on multiple projects, including coordination of all scopes.
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in the construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, and methods and procedures.
  • Experience mitigating grievance and employee relations issues.

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
