Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a vital member of The EMP's interdisciplinary team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within the scope of professional LPN practice to patients and families across the lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care services, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient-centered care plans, taking into account individual patient needs and preferences.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring timely and efficient access to patient information.
  • Support the Special Care Home (SCH) unit in providing enhanced clinical support to residents, promoting resident-centered care and staff support.
  • Travel within the Province as required to support vaccination clinics and clinical support at outbreak sites.

Requirements:

  • Active registration with ANBLPN.
  • Minimum of three years recent medical/surgical, palliative care, and wound care experience in an acute care setting.
  • Demonstrated education and experience related to medication administration, phlebotomy, and physical assessment.
  • Knowledge of the target population of Extra-Mural Services and available community services.
  • Valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Submit a valid and clean criminal record check.
  • Current CPR Level C certification issued within the last 12 months.
  • Ability to work efficiently as a member of the team, with strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record.
  • High regard for confidentiality.
  • Excellent work habits and professional appearance.
