About the Role

As a Dietary Aide at Sienna Senior Living, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional care and service to our residents. Your passion for providing warm and personalized support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow proper food handling techniques to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality.
  • Date, label, and store food properly to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Keep work areas clean and clutter-free, and complete scheduled cleaning duties to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room, and storage areas.
  • Support all aspects of optimal food service to meet the needs of residents, adhering to infection control, quality management, legislative requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of meals, serving meals and beverages, following residents' diets and food preferences, and using proper portion sizes.
  • Take orders for the first and second menu choices from residents, following their preferences and dietary needs.
  • Set and clear tables in the dining rooms and wash/sanitize tables, chairs, and serveries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining areas.
Requirements
  • Maintain a current Safe Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Be familiar with the correct procedure for service and handling of food.
  • Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment, such as dishwashers, conveyor toasters, and meat-slicers.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) or Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
