We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at the University of Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a Machine Learning algorithm to quantify the safety of underground mine roofs and sidewalls using audio recordings of tool impacts.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement a Machine Learning model to analyze audio recordings and predict mine roof and sidewall safety
- Collaborate with our research team to integrate the developed algorithm with existing mining software
- Conduct experiments and gather data to validate the performance of the Machine Learning model
- Communicate research findings and results to the team and stakeholders
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong background in Machine Learning and programming skills in Python or R
- Experience with audio signal processing and data analysis
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
