About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Service Clerk IV to join our team at Northland Utilities, a division of ATCO Ltd. As a Service Clerk IV, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to residential and commercial customers, responding to service inquiries, and promoting the company's image.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt and personalized service to customers via phone, email, and in-person
  • Respond to billing and service inquiries, connection, and disconnection of services
  • Coordinate fieldwork with service personnel and process fieldwork orders on the billing system
  • Initiate collection action as required and negotiate a mutually acceptable payment arrangement with arrears customers
  • Apply knowledge of emergency procedures to assist with power outages, as required
  • Liaise with social agencies, governments, and First Nations to seek or provide customer information and resolve account-related issues
  • Process invoices and expenses from receipt through to payment and respond to vendor queries
  • Accounts receivable invoice issuing and follow-up for late payment
  • Other office administration duties and support, as well as handling of payments and minor financial duties

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience within a computerized environment
  • Experience with accounts payable and receivable systems
  • Working knowledge of O365, MS Word, and MS Excel
  • Working knowledge of Customer Information Billing Systems
  • Working knowledge of company policies and practices regarding accounts, billings, connections, and disconnections
  • Knowledge of rate structures, utility regulations, emergency procedures, and utility industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills for dealing with internal and external customers
  • An orientation to deliver excellent customer service
  • An ability to deal with confrontation and diffuse emotional situations
  • An ability to work professionally and maintain confidentiality of customer information
