Job Title: Child and Youth Support Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Support Specialist to join our team at Mary Homes Inc. The successful candidate will provide support and care to children and youth in a group home setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reports and case histories to document client progress and needs
  • Implement life skills workshops and behaviour management programs to support client development
  • Assess client needs and eligibility for services, and provide individual and group counselling sessions as needed
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, and provide support with daily living tasks such as housekeeping and food preparation
  • Provide suicide and crisis intervention, and resolve conflict situations in a safe and respectful manner

Requirements:

  • College diploma or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a group home setting, with occasional travel to other locations
  • Work with children and youth with diverse needs and backgrounds
  • Work in a team environment, with regular supervision and support
