Key Responsibilities:- Freight Handling: Read air waybills, bills of landing, and freight manifests to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Cargo Movement: Convey freight from receiving areas to storage or to other warehouse areas using forklifts or other designated handling equipment.
- Inventory Management: Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences.
- Dangerous Goods Handling: Sort and store dangerous goods in proper areas.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Complete requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to other locations.
- Cargo Inspection: Open bales, crates, and other containers for breakdown, record counts of items received or distributed, and weigh items for distribution within the warehouse.
- Cargo Build-up and Breakdown: Perform cargo build-up and/or breakdowns, freight to and/or from skids, pallets, or ULDs.
- Security Checks: Perform X-ray or other pre-flight security checks on manifested cargo as required.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Ensure work areas are clean and hazard-free of loose nets, straps, etc.
- Adherence to Safety Policies: Practice all company safety policies, including wearing PPE, equipment operation, safe lifting procedures, and obeying speed limits when driving company vehicles and equipment.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Language: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record over the past 5 years.
- Availability: Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Lifting Ability: Must be able to lift at least 30 kgs on a continuous basis.
- Background Check: Must pass a Transport Canada background check.
- Prior Experience: Prior cargo experience and forklift certification are preferred.
