K9 Explosive Detection Handler Opportunity

A.S.P. Incorporated, a leading provider of security and customer service solutions, is seeking a highly skilled K9 Explosive Detection Handler to join our team. As a key member of our Explosive Detection Dog and Handler Team (EDDHT), you will be responsible for conducting explosives detection searches of air cargo, mailbags, and other required items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete and maintain certification in the EDDHT program under Transport Canada
  • Hold a valid Transport Security Clearance (TSC) under Transport Canada
  • Ensure the 24-hour housing, care, and well-being of your assigned canine
  • Perform K9 duties, including working indoors and outdoors under various conditions
  • Be flexible and willing to work in unpredictable, last-minute canine service requests
  • Participate in daily training on explosives detection and maintain records complying with Federal Regulations

Requirements:

  • Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Proficient in English
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and active listening skills
  • Valid Security licence, Drivers Licence (G or Higher) with a clear driving abstract, and Basic First Aid and CPR certification
  • Willingness to provide a Criminal Record check upon request
  • Security experience an asset
