Job Title: Drywall Finisher

At Young Boy Drywall Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to achieve a high-quality surface.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for painting or finishing.
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to prevent damage.
  • Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fills joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a secure and even surface.
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency.
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to add a decorative touch.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry before applying additional layers.
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings to create a unique finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools.
  • Utilize a laser alignment system to ensure accurate installation.
