Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Process Engineering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing organization, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, analyzing processes, and implementing efficient solutions to support our manufacturing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities- Process Analysis and Improvement: Utilize root cause problem-solving methods to identify and address issues affecting internal quality and productivity.
- Quality Improvement Initiatives: Develop and implement mistake-proofing fixtures and devices to prevent defects and improve overall quality.
- Capital Project Management: Prepare and justify capital project proposals to acquire new equipment and improve manufacturing processes.
- Engineering Feasibility Studies: Conduct studies to determine the feasibility of implementing labor and material cost savings opportunities.
- Process Change Management: Initiate and manage process change notifications to implement changes or alterations to the current manufacturing process.
- Documentation and Communication: Maintain up-to-date product information, including FMEA, process flow charts, and instruction sheets.
- Meeting Facilitation: Facilitate quality and productivity-related meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
- Reporting and Tracking: Update measurables, presentation materials, and tracking documents for monthly Quality Operating System (QOS) reviews.
- Labour Savings Opportunities: Identify and implement labor savings opportunities, both direct and indirect.
- Plant Layout Management: Maintain up-to-date product line layouts and plant layouts.
- Vendor Management: Act as a technical contact between management and vendors.
- Packaging and Compliance: Update and obtain customer approval on packaging forms for new business and upload to OEM packaging databases.
- Education: Completion of a community college diploma or certificate.
- Experience: 3 to less than 5 years of work-related experience.
- Skills: Knowledge of FMEA, working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Solidworks.
- Assets: Knowledge of MRP systems and experience with root cause problem-solving methods.
