Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment: Identify and diagnose faults and malfunctions in heavy-duty equipment, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Order Parts and Maintain Inventory: Source and procure necessary parts and materials, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Adjust and Repair Equipment: Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and repairs on heavy-duty equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical transmissions.
  • Test and Inspect Repaired Equipment: Conduct thorough inspections and testing to ensure that repaired equipment meets manufacturers' specifications and is safe for operation.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Specializations
  • Diesel Engine Repair: Repair and maintain diesel engines, including fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, and engine control systems.
  • Powered Equipment Repair: Repair and maintain industrial lift trucks, fork-lifts, and other powered equipment.
  • Mechanical Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical transmissions, drive trains, hydraulic transmissions, and other mechanical systems.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazardous conditions.
  • Physical Demands: The position requires the ability to lift, bend, and maneuver in confined spaces, with a maximum weight handling capacity of 23 kg (50 lbs).
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but relevant training and experience are essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance and repair is required.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication, and proficiency in English is essential.
