Job Title: Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Urban Impact Recycling Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Order parts and maintain inventory
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Perform other routine maintenance
Specializations:
  • Diesel engine repair specialization: Fuel injection system, Exhaust system, Cooling system, Air conditioning system, Lubrication system, Engine control system, Major internal engine repairs or overhaul
  • Powered equipment repair specialization: Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts
  • Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains and final drives, Hydraulic transmissions, Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, Highway vehicle tires and wheels, Differentials, Brake system
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance and repair
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
