Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for the initiation and management of mechanical ventilation and advanced airway management in various areas of the institution.
You will deliver and manage the administration of oxygen and other compressed gases, aerosolized medications, and high humidity therapies. Additionally, you will perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing.
As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will help achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status. You will assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care and airway management for patients.
Other responsibilities may include patient or staff education sessions.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy
- Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
- Certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels
- Ability to travel to other sites
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective planning, organizing, and supervising abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to changing needs
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Permanent Part Time 60%; 45 hours bi-weekly
- Commencing as soon as possible
$40.66 Hourly
